ECBF is proud to offer loans to churches for a variety of projects. All Saints, Glen Rock, NJ had a thriving preschool which had been shut down due to COVID. As the pandemic “subsided”, it was clear that the church needed to revive this vital service for the community. Instead of simply flinging open the doors, parishioners of all ages came together to analyze how they could make the preschool even better. Here is an explanation of the project from the church in their words:
This was the original sanctuary of All Saints before a new sanctuary was built on our parish property about 70 years ago. The old sanctuary footprint has been reduced over the years by about 60% to make space for the preschool. This most recent reduction prompted a rethinking of the space which resulted in the relocation of stained glass windows (with back lighting when mounted on interior walls), replacement of old wooden pews with the pictured chairs which allow for flexible seating arrangements, and a thorough cleaning of the ceiling, walls and altar. We also needed to build a wall where the original organ had been (and which was removed decades ago)…it required matching the existing stenciling; we were blessed to find a artisan who did such a fine job, no one can tell where the old stenciling ends and the new begins.
